"I am writing to you about the success we have experienced at Bryan High School since they have been using TIP. I have been a happy user of the TIP district version for the past eleven years. TIP has helped me to make great improvements in managing the textbooks for Bryan ISD, a district of approximately 14,000 students. I tried unsuccessfully to convince the secondary campuses in my district that the campus version would help them to recoup some of their lost textbooks or bring in more payments for lost books. They just didn't want to spend the money. Then our district experienced an audit from the TEA (Texas Education Agency) for our textbook inventory. This was at the end of the 1995 school year. Our district ended up paying the state $42,000 for our unaccounted for textbooks.
This audit caused our district to take a different approach on textbook management. The administration let the campuses know that they would be responsible for their losses instead of the district absorbing the losses. Once these new expectations were made known, then the campuses came looking for a way to reduce their losses through a program for tracking their textbooks.
Then all three middle schools and the high school came on board by purchasing the TIP campus version and using bar coding for their textbooks. The district had been spending $20,000 to $40,000 each year to replace books for the schools.
Since we have been using the TIP campus program for our secondary campuses, our losses have dropped drastically. All of our middle schools at the end of the 2001/2002 school year, kept their losses under $500, and Bryan High School has done such a great job of recovering lost textbooks and receiving payments for books that this year they have not had to spend any money for replacing textbooks. The campuses have nothing but praise for the TIP program and now they can see that TIP has more than paid for itself and reduced their losses considerable. At the end of the 2001/2002 school year, our district losses for (19) campuses was only $5,165.26. TIP has certainly played a big part in helping our district save thousands of dollars on the replacement of textbooks. Thanks for making textbook management easier for everyone.

"TIP is a great tool and system to help schools with textbook distribution and accounting. Mayde Creek High School has been using the TIP system for over five years. We distribute textbooks straight to our students (3200 students receive all books in four days) and pick up the books from the students at the end of the school year. TIP gives us a system to track books, keep up with lost or damaged books, and the ability to notify withdrawing students/parents of textbooks they still are responsible for.
