March 5, 2019 – Hayes Software Systems, the leader in inventory control solutions for K-12 education, announces the hire of Kunal Ashar as Chief Technology Officer. Ashar brings over twenty years of experience to Hayes as a technology leader specializing in cloud-based software solutions in the education space.

As CTO, Ashar will oversee Hayes’ technology infrastructure innovation, while providing strategic and operational direction for the growth of Hayes’ current suite of products and the creation of future ones. Prior to joining Hayes, Ashar developed over fifteen software products for enterprise and B2C customers that allowed working adults to continue their education through online courses for top universities, including: MIT, Columbia University, Dartmouth College, and the University of California, Berkeley. Before that, Ashar co-founded and built an RFID product designed to increase security on school campuses through student ID badges called NorthStar.

“Kunal’s blend of technical expertise and leadership is the perfect match to ensure we not only deliver what our customers expect now, but also what they will need in the future,” said Matt Winebright, CEO and President of Hayes Software Systems. “Our employees and customers will benefit from Kunal’s involvement in both execution and forward-thinking planning as well as innovative ideas.  He combines this with a dynamic cultural fit that match our organization’s core values: a desire to support schools and help children.”

“I love the fact Hayes Software Systems is extremely agile and positioned for growth, while focused on the school district’s needs and delivering value to the end user,” Ashar said. “Hayes takes pride in the work they are doing in the education space while helping school districts gain access to reliable, feature rich, and powerful cloud-based inventory solutions.”
