Incorporated in 1990, father and son, Eugene and Michael Hayes founded Hayes Software Systems to provide software solutions that empowered school administrators. As Vice President, Michael Hayes was responsible for software engineering, eventually leading to a promotion as the company’s President in 2000, and then CEO in 2004.
In 2016, Michael Hayes transitioned to Chairman of Hayes’s Board of Directors, appointing Matt Winebright as CEO and President. With nearly 20 years of experience working with educators in the K-12 market, including four years in multiple leadership roles at Hayes, Mr. Winebright has been instrumental in the company’s growth and success.
Nearly a year later, Hayes Software Systems announced its acquisition by the private investment firm Transition Capital Partners (TCP). Founded in 1993, TCP has successfully invested in more than 40 lower middle market companies spanning an array of industries, including education.
